REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR THE SUPPLY, INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT OF VIRTUALISED DATACENTER SECURITY SOLUTION

T19/03/1327 MARCH 2013, @ 12H00 noon

Enterprises are increasingly online and data-centric, connecting partners, personnel, suppliers, or customers with applications that face a growing danger of cyber-attacks. These targeted threats are greater and more sophisticated than ever before, and data security compliance requirements become more stringent every day. The IDC needs uncompromising security that will enable the company to modernize the datacenter with virtualization and cloud computing without reducing performance.

The solution must provide advanced security for physical, virtual, and cloud servers and virtual desktops. Whether implemented as software, virtual appliance, or in a hybrid approach, this solution should minimize overhead and streamline management but provides strong agentless security for virtual machines. The solution must also address a wide range of compliance requirements, including seven major PCI compliance requirements with multiple protection modules in one consolidated solution.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL TO CONDUCT A STUDY INTO ARTISANAL SKILLS IN WEST COAST OF THE WESTERN CAPE

Tender reference number: T18/03/13

Closing date: 26 MARCH 2013, @ 12H00 noon

The Skills Development Amendment Act, 2008 (Act No. 37, 2008) requires of each province to have a Provincial Skills Development Forum (PSDF). Skills development is about acquiring skills that are related to employment, job creation and the business market in the context of social change in order for provincial strategies to be fully realised. The Premier of the Western Cape launched the PSDF on 06 June 2011, with the following objectives:

  • To provide a mechanism where organised business, government, organised labour, civil society and institutions of learning and skills development can collaborate on skills development programmes and projects; the aim of which is to provide the labour market with the skills necessary for growth;
  • To provide a mechanism through which the medium and long-term skills needs of the Western Cape economy can be researched and identified to better inform the skills delivery strategies of institutions of learning and skills development;
  • To ensure each sector that is identified for support will have a skills development programme appropriate to that sector but also taking cognizance of the wider benefits for other sectors in the provincial economy.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL TO CONDUCT ASSET VERIFICATION AND TAGGING FOR THE IDC

Tender reference number: T17/03/13

Closing date: 25 MARCH 2013, @ 12H00 noon

Recently the IDC had embarked on an exercise to verify and tag assets held as collateral under specific securities to the IDC. The verification and tagging of assets that fall within the "Existing Legacy Book" has recently been completed and assets details have been captured onto Assetware. IDC is accountable for cataloguing, tracking, tagging, and effectively monitoring the equipment held under specific securities.

The IDC now wishes to extend the program to include verification and tagging of the equipment held under recently registered specific securities and securities to be registered on an on-going basis as part of the corporation's loan extension process.
